Music, Courage, and a Glider: How Marek Ztracený’s Son Is Growing Into His Own Rhythm

Seeing a youngster develop into who they are without the need for praise at every turn is incredibly comforting. The son of Czech music star Marek Ztracený, Marek Ztracený Jr., appears to be doing a remarkable job of striking that balance. He’s already developing his own rhythm at the age of 14, one that travels through guitars, drums, and forest walks with the same vigor his father used to save for sold-out shows.

His father recently sent a birthday message that sounded more like something written in a quiet moment of admiration than a celebrity dispatch. For a figure frequently encircled by stage lights and cameras, it seemed remarkably grounded. He mentioned habits, such as spending afternoons riding a bicycle, skiing, or even flying gliders, rather than accomplishments. It depicted a young person who views each day as an opportunity to try something different.

More significantly, the post disclosed something that went beyond pastimes. Marek Jr. had rushed to notify others after calling emergency services a few days prior after a friend was hurt. His response to the question of why he didn’t bring it up was surprisingly straightforward: “That’s normal.” When said simply, such statement has a weight that is simple to ignore.

It is especially reassuring that a 14-year-old would react with such natural kindness. His emphasis appears to be on being present rather than being noticed in a time when many teenagers are being pushed toward filters and personal branding. That is not only commendable but also incredibly uncommon.

The response from the elder Ztracený was instructive. He claimed that while he was pleased of many things, his son’s development throughout what he described as a “abnormal time” was what he was most proud of. That word choice caught my attention. It had nothing to do with being exceptional in the conventional sense. Empathy, self-awareness, and the readiness to act without waiting for a reward were key components. That concept of success has a particularly poignant quality.

Marek Jr. could have easily become enmeshed in his father’s world at this stage. He already incorporates music into his everyday routine, and talent runs in the family. Instead, a young person with impressively self-directed interests is emerging. He doesn’t seem to be vying for his father’s attention. He’s moving at his own pace.

Ztracený appears to be a respectful and watchful parent. He didn’t lecture in his birthday message. It inspired. He wrote, “You’ll soon face great challenges,” and then expressed total faith in his son’s capacity to overcome them. Young individuals who are figuring out their way in both public and private settings benefit greatly from that kind of unconditional trust.

Compared to many celebrity narratives, the elder Ztracený’s writing about fatherhood feels very different. This isn’t a transaction. It isn’t put together to win over followers. There’s a genuineness there, a rhythm that puts the emotional bond ahead of flawless presentation.

Marek Jr. appears to be more interested in the process of creation than the response it elicits, despite his passion for performing. He seems genuinely interested in learning, not impressing, whether he is piloting a glider over the open air or behind a drum set. That kind of thinking is quite effective at developing character without depleting it.

Naturally, it’s too soon to predict his future course. He might take to the stage to perform. He might develop airplanes. Or perhaps he will find contentment in something more subdued and out of the spotlight. However, the foundation that is growing below him—one that is bolstered by support rather than coercion—feels particularly solid.

He is growing up in an era where being noticeable frequently takes precedence over being sincere. However, Marek Jr. provides a completely different kind of role model by keeping a clear focus on decency, curiosity, and joy—not because of who he is related to, but because of how he approaches life.
